Tools to play around

What can go wrong

  • Sonic Wave / Resonating StrikeDecide where you want to finish the movement before casting. Using mobility to enter a fight can leave fewer options to retreat.
  • Safeguard / Iron WillMatch the protective effect to the moment damage arrives. Read who it protects and how long it lasts before relying on it.
  • A completed combo is only useful when your position, resources and follow-up are safe.

Abilities & tips

Open an ability to read its effect and a practical use tip.

PFlurry

After Lee Sin uses an ability, his next 2 basic attacks gain Attack Speed and return Energy.

Use it well

Read the effect and its conditions, then practise it alone. Build your sequence around the effect you can reliably reproduce.

QSonic Wave / Resonating Strike

Sonic Wave: Lee Sin projects a discordant wave of sound to locate his enemies, dealing physical damage to the first enemy it encounters. If Sonic Wave hits, Lee Sin can cast Resonating Strike for the next 3 seconds. Resonating Strike: Lee Sin dashes to the enemy hit by Sonic Wave, dealing physical damage based on the target's missing Health.

Use it well

Decide where you want to finish the movement before casting. Using mobility to enter a fight can leave fewer options to retreat.

WSafeguard / Iron Will

Safeguard: Lee Sin rushes to target ally, shielding himself from damage. If the ally is a champion, they are also shielded. After using Safeguard, Lee Sin can cast Iron Will. Iron Will: Lee Sin's intense training allows him to thrive in battle. Lee Sin gains Omnivamp.

Use it well

Match the protective effect to the moment damage arrives. Read who it protects and how long it lasts before relying on it.

ETempest / Cripple

Tempest: Lee Sin smashes the ground, sending out a shockwave that deals magic damage and reveals enemy units hit. If Tempest hits an enemy, Lee Sin can cast cripple. Cripple: Lee Sin cripples nearby enemies damaged by Tempest, reducing their Move Speed. Move Speed recovers gradually over the duration.

Use it well

Practise the hit area and target conditions first. Do not spend the rest of your rotation automatically when the opening damage misses.

RDragon's Rage

Lee Sin performs a powerful roundhouse kick launching his target back, dealing physical damage to the target and any enemies they collide with. Enemies the target collides with are knocked into the air for a short duration. This technique was taught to him by Jesse Perring, although Lee Sin does not kick players off the map.

Use it well

Practise the hit area and target conditions first. Do not spend the rest of your rotation automatically when the opening damage misses.

With Lee Sin, start with Tempest / Cripple, then continue through Basic attack → Tempest / Cripple → Basic attack → Safeguard / Iron Will → Basic attack → Sonic Wave / Resonating Strike → Basic attack → Basic attack → Sonic Wave / Resonating Strike. Alternate the shown spells and attacks to use Flurry. Check that each attack lands rather than pressing the whole sequence at once.

Mistake to avoid : Moving or casting too early can remove the attack you were trying to fit between spells.

Repeated spells may need a recast window or a cooldown; check that the next activation is actually available.

Game plan by role

Lee Sin · Jungle
Early game

Practise a repeatable clear before adding risky invades. Check nearby lane positions before entering the river or committing to a gank.

Mid game

Prepare objectives by resetting, checking vision and moving with nearby allies. Avoid starting an objective solely because it has spawned.

Teamfights

Keep Smite and your escape plan in mind around contested objectives. Choose between engaging, covering a carry and keeping access to the objective.

Before your next fight, check: Sonic Wave / Resonating Strike · Dragon's Rage · Combos

06

Matchup preparation

Compare opponents in the build for the role you are actually playing. Then check their key control, escape and defensive spells before choosing your trade.

07

Practice checklist

  1. Cast each ability alone and identify its range, target conditions and stopping point.
  2. Practise the first sequence slowly. Repeat it while moving, without skipping the conditions shown on its card.
  3. After each attempt, identify the spell you would still have available to defend or retreat.
